Oregon artist Romona Youngquist finds herself being more deliberate and working slower since 2008 when the economy took a turn for the worse, signaling her not to take her career as an artist for granted.

Every January, botanical artist Dyana Hesson unveils her latest creations at Bonner David Galleries in Scottsdale, Arizona. One of the gallery’s original artists, Hesson kicks off 2010 with more than a dozen new midsize oil paintings that represent the past year of life in Arizona.

Like a modern-day time traveler, artist Lane Timothy wanders through the decades to portray images of times past. His vibrant paintings of American life and culture evoke memories of simpler eras. And his distinctive retro style sets him apart from the pack.

New paintings by established gallery artists as well as new additions will be on display at Bonner David Galleries during its annual winter group exhibition. This year’s show will feature new paintings by gallery artists John Schieffer, Rich Bowman, Francis Livingston and John Harrell.

Brad Aldridge has always been fond of the idea of the landscape as a symbol of spirituality and divinity in nature, so he addressed these themes by creating a triptych titled A Broader View that opens in much the same style as a 14th century Italian religious painting.

While Michael Carson continues to paint people as always, he has found that by using looser strokes and more vague interiors, his work has become a bit more fluid, not only within each individual piece but also from one painting to the next.
